The Foundation hold graduations
in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas
February 6, 2015
On Saturday January 10, 2015, The STAND Foundation held a graduation ceremony for its most recent graduates of the Edward Coleman Leadership Institute for the Little Rock Fall 2014 class. The event was held at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock where 28 students received certificates of graduation. Tracy Steele, former legislator and founder of The STAND Foundation, served as the keynote speaker of the ceremony.
Dr. Charity Smith served as the keynote speaker for the Pine Bluff graduation, which was held on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff campus on January 17, 2015. A total of 13 participants graduated from the training and received 40 clock hours that can be credited toward a degree program, an effort led by the university’s Bonita Corbin of the division of graduate studies and continuing education.
A major component of STAND’s training is the development of a community service project plan, which participants are encouraged to implement. The planning process itself is a quality of life skill STAND believes is an important characteristic for today’s leaders.
STAND is incredibly proud of its graduates and is excited to see what they will accomplish with their new leadership skills.
