Positions run for a period of one (1) year, including training with the option of up to five years of renewal. Members receive a $428 bi-weekly living allowance and their choice of either a $5,500 Eli Segal AmeriCorps Education Award OR a cash award of $1,500 at the end of service. THE STAND FOUNDATION, INC. need VISTAS to fulfill the areas listed below:
Event Coordinator: responsible for coordinating all events related to the STAND Foundation Inc. This will involve small scale as well as large scale events. Event coordination requires skills in overseeing, planning, coordinating, and executing. An Event Coordinator must be familiar with adhering to budget restrictions and space requirements.
Media Specialist: responsible for working with multimedia equipment (such as television and video equipment), cameras, film projectors, slides, and recording equipment. The specialist would be accountable for editing film and creating presentations for STAND Foundation Inc. events. It is important for the media specialist to have extensive knowledge about various media programs.
IT Specialist: responsible for providing technical support to STAND Foundation Inc. employees. Must have technical expertise in the implementation, monitoring, or maintenance of IT systems. Specialty areas include network analysis, system administration, security and database administration, web administration, and more. The IT Specialist must be available to attend STAND Foundation Inc. events in order to manage technical equipment. Experiene with audio/visual troubleshooting (such as a/v podiums, projectors, etc.) is preferred.
Photographer/Videographer: responsible for documenting all STAND Foundation Inc. events. Must be comfortable interviewing leaders from our programs. Should have experience with editing and creating compilations, using different available programs (including Pinnacle Studio 12). Ability to use various types of cameras and video cameras preferred.
VISTA was founded as Volunteers in Service to America in 1965 as a national service program designed specifically to fight poverty in America. In 1993, VISTA was incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs.
AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. They focus their efforts to build the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities.
